Eating out and Takeaways
Kendal offers a great selection of eateries and takeaways including Indian, Chinese,Thai, and Tapas. There is a great American style smokehouse that offers eat in or take away. Eat in or take away fish and chips and of course an array of pubs offering food. There are a great selection of coffee houses and cafes. To the north of us in Shap there is an eat in or take away fish and chip shop and 2 pubs offering food and a tea house. If you prefer a rural pub there are many within easy driving distance offering great food. (We strongly recommend booking when eating out)

Entertainment
Kendal has various evening entertainment on offer all year round some of the pubs have regular live music . The Brewery Arts centre has a 2 screen cinema, A theatre with a full programme of events and there is also a live music venue offering a very varied program with something for all tastes. It also offers outdoor events during summer months. Kendal itself has various festivals and entertainments during the year including the mountain festival and the torchlight procession. Kendal leisure centre houses a 900 seat theatre with a very varied programme from Jimmy Carr to Ranulph Fiennes and also hosts music events.
